About The State Theatre:

Founded in 1934, The State Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the community by offering exceptional cultural, educational, film and performance-based experiences for Modesto and Stanislaus County.  Designed by noted Chicago architect, S. Charles Lee, one of the most prolific designers of motion picture venues on the West Coast, The State Theatre is a study in Art Deco and Moderne theater design.  The theater underwent a major renovation in 2005 as well as a 2016 effort that expanded the concessions area and added state-of-the art digital sound and theatrical lighting.  A popular venue for independent films and live performances, The State Theatre offers an array of services including rental of its facilities for live acts, special events, and corporate meetings.
